AdImages Make all the difference

They say a picture tells a thousand words, and in the world of marketing they are 100% correct. In the world of Social Media, which is the most prolific platform for advertisers nowadays, your post need to stand out from the crowd just to get a cursory look.
Here is an "AdImage", a name Key Reward Associates (KRA) uses for its stunning pictures produced for business which (sans SAMPLE label ) was made to promote a KRA Online Shopping portal. On it's own the image is a beautiful picture of the two ladies simply giving up during a downpour, smiling and laughing and making the best of it. We turned it into a mini-story about two ladies being prevented from going on their shopping trip and underlining the fact that they could have stayed at home and done it all online in the warm dry comfort of their living room.
The addition of a 'faux' button to click invites the viewer to try it out and thus another visitor arrives at the appropriate web page (a button is only effective if the image is actually linked - more on how to do this in Facebook later on when we start our Facebook Tips for Marketers series). Images and Video are the only effective and engaging way to 'magnetise' potential customers in the crowded, and often messy, world of social media. But try and choose the right image to tell the story about what you are trying to do. The above image is a good example of telling a story. We can see a situation that we have all experienced where nature stops us in our tracks when we are trying to go somewhere. I thought this image was particularly beautiful and so decided to use it with an online shopping campaign to great effect.
So experiment with images and always try to 'split test' a campaign, that is use 2 or more different images and monitor which ones work better than others to narrow down what is working for you and what isn't. There are no absolutes in marketing which is what makes it so much fun but can also bring you pressure and stress if you are responsible for an expensive advertising campaign.
