What is Birdsong?

You may have visited a website, blog or news article recently and a few seconds after the page opened a full screen announcement slid down from the top of the page with an offer of one kind or another and the option to enter your email address in exchange fore more details.

Chances are that was Birdsong in action on behalf of whoever gave you the link for the article in the first place.

To use their own words Birdsong is "An app that lets you stand on the shoulders of giants, Birdsong makes it possible to show your email opt in form over any content you share, anywhere on the web. Borrow greatness from authority figures in your niche, grow your list and establish yourself as a trusted expert with Birdsong."

In Plain English this means you can find a content web page that your own target audience would love, take the URL, enter it into a Birdsong "Smartlink" that you design, share the smartlink anywhere from Facebook, Twitter etc. to email and anyone who clicks on it will go to the chosen web page and, at a delay chosen by you, your pop over will appear complete with opt in for your email list.

I have been using Birdsong for over a month now and I'm hooked. It snares new leads like crazy, as long as you have something people want they will enter their email address and you can laser target them because YOU choose the article to smartlink to.

For example, below is a twitter post I run fairly regularly showing a link to a blog article about Affiliate marketing. You can click it and see what my smartlink shows. I get a high conversion rate because I'm giving a way 10 free Internet Marketing reports (my autoresponder takes care of those over 10 days, and of course within the reports are offers for other products which people buy) - so Birdsong 'sucks' in the leads from someone else's hard work and I get leads and sales just by posting their article.

Who needs Birdsong?

For any business or person who wants to add more subscribers, and thus potential customers to their mailing lists Birdsong is a MUST HAVE. It is a very cheap form of targeted advertising and utilises any content that suits your target market. Even huge news stories can be productive. Imagine if you had an Amazon Fashion Store for example, and you did a smart link for a women's glamour wear catalog on the Angelina/Brad break up news stories that occurred on CNN and other mega news sites - you would have raked in sales.

If you market online I advise that you grab Birdsong as soon as you can. It is compatible with most Email companies, Get Response, Aweber etc. (If you don't have an email/autoresponder you really need one for all aspects of online marketing.
