Good morning! I hope your day is going well. Here are a few useful tips and tricks for the internet that you may not know, and that you may find useful, or fun.

Play Media files in Chrome

Did you know that Google Chrome browser can also be used to play media files such as movies and music? And all you need to do is just drag the media file into Google Chrome! Here is how to pull this trick.

Select your media file in Windows Explorer and open Chrome in a new tab or window and drag file to the address bar and voila! See demo below.

In fact Google Chrome has lots of little secrets tucked away, for example you can use it as a timer when surfing.

Google Search Timer

Just open Google Search and type the following into the search box. set timer for (then write in your time as hours, minutes and seconds) i.e set time for 1 hour fifteen minutes 10 seconds TRY IT! It even has an alarm to tell you when the time is up. Very useful if you're like me and forget about the time flying by when you're online. It also has a stopwatch feature to count upwards!

Would you like to play GOD?

There are a huge number of controls in Microsoft Windows that we know are there but can never track them down when we need them. Well here's a neat little piece of code that will ensure you will always find anything you want in one easy to open folder. It's actually a windows function and (wonder if Bill thought this up) it has the subtle little name of God Mode. To create the world - not in 7 days but in 7 seconds - that we call Microsoft Windows copy this piece of code below:

Now on your desktop, or in Windows Explorer right click and select New/File then paste the code as the file name. Click enter and you suddenly have a folder called God Mode. Open it and now you can go nuts with all the parts of Windows you never knew you could reach. Have fun with this but if you start changing loads of settings, always note the previous settings in case you change your mind later.

And finally a bit of fun for your Facebook. If you want to have a good laugh make a short story up about your house being robbed and the thief stupidly dropped their smartphone so you saw their Facebook profile and have informed the police. Then paste this http://www.fb.com/profile.php and say this is the idiot's profile. Whoever clicks the link will see their own profile. HAVE FUN!
