WHAT is YOUR Mind Set?

I have been in Marketing and Sales for over 35 years now and was applying the same basic rules and principles that are used now online before the internet was up and running. Some basics never change and the most important "tool" you will ever need is a positive mind set.
When we are children we have built in optimism and something goes wrong we have a quick cry then start to think about the next good thing that we want to happen. As we 'mature' it seems that many of us lose the openness to new ideas, instead shutting out the unknown through insecurity and fear. Certain of us prefer to cocoon themselves in the safety of the familiar. In marketing circles these people are called 'employees' and they will spend 40 years working 9-5 six days a week and struggle through life until they retire and then do nothing because they can't afford it.
Many of these people have realised that there are those of us that have shunned that dreary lifestyle in favor of building wealth thus securing our futures and living a great lifestyle while we're doing it. So online they come in their thousands and fail miserably eventually returning to their 9-5.
So what is the difference between these two groups of people?
It is a very simple and easily changed single thing - MINDSET!
Take any successful entrepreneur and they all have ONE thing in common; They are not afraid of taking what you might think is a risk. Instead of asking "How much might I lose?" they ask "How much can I make?" They start something in the absolute belief that they will succeed at it, and if they don't their reaction is not "I give up" but rather "what can I learn from that and correct in my next venture?"
MINDSET in marketing is an ON/OFF switch ON = Positive, OFF = NEGATIVE
In my early days in Direct Sales one of my mentors described Negative thinking in such a great way. He said "Imagine your mind is a beautiful garden with all your happy and positive thoughts being flowers. A Negative thought is a weed and as we all know if you don't KILL that one weed quickly it will GROW and GROW until it takes over the whole garden and strangles all the flowers".
A brilliant analogy and as true today as it was then.
It is frustrating for many professional marketers that there are thousands of people on Social Media now who purport to be "keen" to make money online and yet when presented with an opportunity cry "scam". This is simply FEAR and NEGATIVITY rearing their ugly heads. Most great opportunities nowadays actually offer a "money back" period
(if they don't then the element of risk comes in - I exclude "team/downline building platforms from this article as I don't consider them to be proper businesses - unless they are a bonafide registered MLM product company - I advise people to avoid "rev shares" and the like)
and so, other than investing some time and effort trying something new out is 100% RISK FREE and yet still people will UM and AH and decline the opportunity. These people, statistically, represent 96% of the populous so as marketers we are constantly trying to target the 4% who have open minds (NO weeds) but getting bogged down by the other 96% who basically waste our time.
This in itself may sound a little negative but it's really not. On Facebook, for example, 4% of users equates to some 100 million people which, as a marketer, I am MORE than happy with. (NO weeds in my garden thank you).
I am writing this article mainly for the 96% and if you are one of those people and you really do think you want to succeed in some sort of online business then the first thing you need to do is go and remove all the WEEDS from YOUR garden. NEGATIVITY, SKEPTICISM, FEAR, PROCRASTINATION, will all prevent you from making a penny online.
